Entering the magnificent lobby of the completely renovated Hotel Philips is like traveling back in time. Re-discover the grandeur of this iconic landmark in Kansas City. Once the largest building in town it is now the interior that is large in style and ambiance! Historical and contemporary design is perfectly blend together by interior design firm KKAD. Enjoy the 1931 art deco hotel’s dark walnut panels, lacy wrought iron railings and ornate facade. The hotel’s original chandelier and nearby 11-foot sculpture of the Goddess of Dawn, by Jorgen Dreyer, perched on a pedestal on the second floor is overlooking the lobby. The new hand-tufted rugs - designed by KKAD and made by ICE - and have a vibrant and fresh ‘effect’ due to the shiny material that enlightens the Art Deco inspired pattern.
